On Tuesday this week, we were in the commission registering the Operational Health Officer (OHO) structure!
This is a big win for HSOs around the state, as you will now see greater recognition for what you bring to the Health Sector.
To recap, you won a structure that provides for 3 distinct classification levels, a minimum of 6 years progression for pay points, and we’ve been working through reclassifying some roles that have a requirement for individuals to undertake certificate 3/4 training that were previously not recognised or remunerated for.
The translation to the new pay structure should be reflected in your pays on 14 May. Any pay increases that individuals may get in the shift will be back-paid to 13 April.
This is a big win, and everyone should acknowledge that without the massive effort from all of you over the last two years, we would not have seen this outcome.
It shows that when you stick together and back each other, you can win!
Now that we’ve secured a better structure, it’s time to get ready for the PSUWA negotiations.
It’s time to Stand Up! for better wages and conditions so that we can keep and attract workers to our Health System!
