What’s the go with Devonfield voluntary redundancies?

We have been hearing that Devonfield has been talking about offering voluntary redundancies for when certain participants do not renew their contracts with the company.

According to Devonfield’s current Agreement (MEA) there is a clause that requires Devonfield to consult with the union should the need arise to offer such redundancies.

Whilst we have no issues with it being offered, particularly as some workers may well want to take advantage of the opportunity (particularly if they were already thinking of leaving or retiring), it is still disappointing that Devonfield once again “forgot“ to consult with all required parties as per their Agreement.

If you have any concerns in relation to redundancies or want to know how the process works, please feel free to give HACSUassist a call on 1300 880 032 so they can chat to you about it.
