50% vote for Capitol to come back to the table

The results are in for your agreement that went out to vote this week, and 50% of your colleagues have voted it down in an effort to keep fighting for more.

We share the frustration that some of you have that the process has been protracted, but what our members have told us is that what’s more important is an agreement that’s fair and keeps up with the cost of living in the later years – and let’s be clear, the agreement put before you was a long way off doing that.

We’ve got some work to do together to get Capitol back to the table and to make sure that they offer you an improved deal, so let’s catch up when we’re visiting on site next week to talk about what will get us there and what we’ll do if they don’t play ball.

Whichever way you voted, congratulations on having your say and making sure your voice is heard in this process. Now, we need to stick together and make sure that you have a seat at the table in your working lives and your agreement.

We’re only able to represent members’ views in bargaining, so if you know someone who’s not yet a member of HACSU that’s keen to put their feedback together and have it heard during bargaining, let them know that now’s the time to get organised and have a say about what happens next.

We’ll put out another email to let you know where we’ll be and at what times, but in the meantime if you’ve got questions or feedback you want to put to us feel free to contact us on 1300 880 032 or on [email protected]

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email [email protected] or complete our online contact form
