Following years of campaigning by HACSU members, the Fair Work Commission recently
awarded aged care workers pay increases of up to 28% to recognise the undervaluation of your
work.
We know how important these pay increases are to you, especially for the services workers who
were left without increases in previous interim decisions.
However, the Federal Government has now called for these historic pay increases to be delayed
and implemented over two years:
-
For indirect care workers: In full from 1 January 2025;
-
For direct care workers: 50% of the Stage 3 wage increase from 1 January 2025, and the
remaining 50% of the Stage 3 wage increase from 1 January 2026.
This delay is unacceptable, and the Federal Government should hear from you why you urgently
need a pay rise. Please fill in our
Aged Care Fair Work Case Implementation Survey to have your
say.
Your answers will help shape the HACSU response to the Fair Work Commission – we’ll advocate
strongly for the Federal Government to change its position and commit to fund the pay increases
now.
Please also keep an eye out for HACSU organisers in your workplace and make sure you
sign our petition – we’ve won it once, and we can win it again.
